HOW IT ALL BEGAN

"I wanted to create a barrier between the skin and the garment to protect the clothes so I could stay confident".

The Story

I was a young dancer at the Norwegian Opera Ballet when I was lucky enough to participate in the Nutcracker ballet. I became closely acquainted with a challenge every performer knows too well: sweat and odor damaging delicate costumes. These garments—crafted from the finest fabrics—couldn’t be washed at high temperatures, and yet they had to withstand hours of intense movement under bright stage lights.

I knew there had to be a smarter solution. I envisioned a discreet, ultra-thin and comfortable barrier that would protect the fabric without limiting movement or affecting performance. Something that would help dancers feel confident—while preserving the beauty and lifespan of the costumes we loved.

That vision became PitFit

A super-absorbent, ultra-thin shield designed to protect clothing with comfort.

Today, PitFit brings that same sense of freedom to everyone. No more checking your shirt, dress, or blazer for sweat marks. No more worrying about deodorant stains or odors. Just confidence—whether you’re removing your jacket on a warm day or rewearing your favorite outfit without the need for constant washing.

Choose comfort. Choose longevity. Choose quality over quantity—and take a step toward a more sustainable wardrobe.

HOW WE WORK WITH SUSTAINABILITY

We are committed to following the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, a blueprint for businesses globally to achieve a better and more sustainable future or all. We believe that we can have the greatest impact in our industry by focusing on innovation in the following three main areas of the UN’s Development Goals:

  • Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Industry Innovation and Infrastructure
  • Responsible Consumption and Production

WHY WE CHOOSE SAP - NOT COTTON

COTTON HURTS THE ENVIROMENT
Cotton cultivation causes soil degradation and erosion as well as loss of forest area and other habitat. Conventionally-grown cotton is bad for the environment because of its high water consumption and pollution, soil degradation, greenhouse gas emissions, and use of harmful pesticides and fertilisers. Cotton production is responsible for the emission of 220 million tons of CO2 annually.

The social impact of cotton includes unfair trade practices, forced labor, and child labor. About 90% of cotton farmers live in low-income countries. Fairtrade practices ensure that they get appropriate rewards for their labor.

SAP is a superabsorbent polymer (also called slush powder) and it is a water-absorbing polymer that can absorb and retain extremely large amounts of a liquid relative to its own mass. A human made sythetic fiber.

SAPs are considered to be non toxic, non sensitizing, non irritant and non mutagenic. All in all, using a water absorbent polymer is a good thing. They're non toxic and safe, and they help to keep for example nappies thinner, so there's less landfill.

REDUCE, REWEAR, AND REPURPOSE YOUR CLOTHING

Every piece of clothing you're wearing has gone through a complex manufacturing process that uses a high amount of electricity, water, and other energy sources. Recycling clothes saves energy by reducing or eliminating the need to make materials from scratch.

CHOOSE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

You take better care of clothes you worked harder for. Using your money on clothes your really need or love is so much better then a short term temptation. Clothing should never end up in landfills, but recycling clothing should be viewed as the conscious consumer's last resort. Reduce, Rewear, and Repurpose your clothing. Then, when all else has failed and your clothing has lived a long and happy life, Recycle.

Protect your favorite clothes with PitFit Shields, and keep them in your future.
